Mirrativ, Inc. (URL: https://mirrativ.co.jp/; the “Company”) shall handle personal information obtained by the Company based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of 2003; the “Personal Information Protection Act”), other related laws and regulations, and this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”).
Unless this Privacy Policy provides otherwise, the meanings of the terms used in this Privacy Policy are as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
The Company shall, when collecting personal information, disclose or otherwise notify the purposes of use (including disclosure through this Privacy Policy). Where the Company collects personal information recorded in contracts or other documents (including electromagnetic records) directly from the individual concerned, the Company shall specify the purposes of use in advance and collect such information by lawful and fair means.

  1. To provide our live-streaming services, content and other information-provision services, and system-use services (including applications) (collectively, the “Services”).
  2. To sell, solicit the sale of, ship, and provide services for products and services of the Company or third parties (including travel, insurance and other financial products; hereinafter the same).
  3. To advertise or promote the products and services of the Company or third parties (including sending direct mailings and e-mails).
  4. To bill for fees and calculate charges.
  5. To verify and authenticate identity.
  6. To provide after-sales service and to respond to inquiries or complaints.
  7. To conduct surveys and questionnaires.
  8. To run sweepstakes or promotional campaigns.
  9. To provide affiliate programs or point-reward services.
  10. To research, compile statistics on, and analyze marketing data.
  11. To provide payment processing and logistics services.
  12. To deliver behavior-targeted advertisements through ad-distribution providers such as Google and Yahoo.
  13. To develop new services and functions.
  14. To maintain systems and address malfunctions.
  15. To post Mirrativ members’ stated information on the live-streaming service.
  16. To pay remuneration and other consideration stipulated in contracts or terms of use separately agreed between the Company and Mirrativ members.
  17. To send or provide prizes and similar items.
  18. For any other purposes individually specified for each of the Company’s services.

(2) Personal information relating to business partners (including the officers and employees of corporate customers)

  1. To make necessary business contacts, perform contracts, conduct negotiations and other business activities.
  2. To manage information on business partners.

(3) Personal information relating to shareholders (including the officers and employees of corporate shareholders)

  1. To exercise rights and perform obligations under the Companies Act and other laws and regulations.
  2. To administer shareholders, including preparing records required by relevant laws and regulations.

(4) Personal information relating to applicants for recruitment activities

  1. To contact and provide information to applicants and otherwise use such information as necessary for recruitment and hiring activities.

(5) Personal information relating to officers and employees

  1. To communicate for business purposes.
  2. To pay remuneration (wages, bonuses, allowances, etc.).
  3. To manage personnel and labor matters and to provide employee benefits.
  4. To conduct health management, including medical examinations, stress checks and other health-related measures.

“Specific Personal Information,” as defined in the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (the “Numbers Act”)—meaning any personal information that includes an Individual Number (or its substitute)—and the Individual Number itself (together, “Specific Personal Information, etc.”) can be used only for the limited purposes prescribed in the Numbers Act. Accordingly, the Company shall not obtain or use Specific Personal Information, etc. beyond the extent necessary to achieve those purposes, nor shall it provide such information to any third party except as expressly permitted under the Numbers Act.

The Company obtains, retains, and uses Specific Personal Information, etc. strictly to the extent necessary for the following purposes:

  • Administration of withholding tax and related matters
  • Preparation of the “Declaration of Exemption for Dependents,” “Insurance Premium Deduction Declaration,” and “Spouse Special Exemption Declaration,” and related clerical work
  • Preparation of salary payment reports
  • Preparation of employee relocation notifications for special collection of individual inhabitant tax
  • Preparation of applications to switch to special collection
  • Preparation of payment records for retirement allowances, etc.
  • Preparation of declarations concerning retirement income
  • Preparation of declarations, notifications, and applications relating to employees’ asset-formation savings for housing and pensions
  • Filing procedures for health insurance, employees’ pension insurance, and corporate pension schemes
  • Filing procedures for Category III insured persons under the National Pension Scheme
  • Applications and claims under health insurance, employees’ pension insurance, and corporate pension schemes
  • Filing procedures under employment insurance
  • Applications and claims under employment insurance
  • Preparation and provision of statutory documents concerning securities transactions for employee share-holding associations
  • Preparation and provision of statutory documents concerning securities transactions under stock-option plans
  • Administration relating to group insurance policies
  • Preparation of payment records for remuneration, fees, etc.
  • Preparation of payment records for dividends, surplus distributions, and interest on funds
  • Preparation of payment records for real-estate rents, etc.
  • Preparation of payment records for consideration for the transfer of real estate, etc.
  • Any other clerical work incidental to the foregoing purposes
Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties

The Company will not provide personal data to third parties unless such provision is permitted by applicable laws.

Entrustment of the Handling of Obtained Information

The Company may entrust a subcontractor with the whole or part of its handling of personal data within the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use specified in “2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information”.

Handling of Personal Information by Linked Websites, Etc.

The Service and websites operated by the Company may include links to external websites. The Company has no control over any personal information that is registered on such external websites, so the Company shall not be responsible for such information. When registering personal information on an external website, it is encouraged that you review the privacy policy for the said website.

System for Protecting Personal Information

The Company implements the necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of the personal data it handles and to otherwise ensure its secure management. The Company exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over employees and contractors (including any subcontractors) who handle personal data.

Procedures for Disclosure, Correction, Discontinuation of Use, and Suspension of Provision to Third Parties of Personal Data
Users may, in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws and regulations, request the Company to notify the purpose of use, disclose (including disclosure of records of provision to a third party), correct, discontinue using, and suspend providing to a third party, personal data of the relevant user held by the Company. Upon such request from the user to the contact point specified in Section 10 below, the Company shall, without delay, inform the user of the procedures necessary for the Company to process the request.
The Company may, however, refuse a request if the method of submission is deficient, if the request lacks reasonable grounds, or if compliance would otherwise be difficult under applicable laws and regulations.
For each request to disclose retained personal data or to be notified of its purpose of use, an administration fee of 1,000 yen will be charged by postal money order.
